Executive Summary

 

In order to achieve future funding of Australian Sport, Australian Wagering Industry professional Gregory Conroy has suggested this proposal which, in his opinion, is superior to others that have been discussed and negates all the major political and potentially constitutional problems (AFR story) and lottery industry opposition (AAP story Jul 25 17) and Newsagents Association opposition (Daily Telegraph Jul 25 17) that comes with a traditional sports lottery concept borrowed from the UK.

This is an opportunity for the Australian wagering industry to work positively to grow the industry whilst also creating goodwill as opposed to being regulated against, such as a mooted POC tax (AAP story Jul 25 17) to support Australian Sports.
