NB: May was a free trial period to about 140 people. This allowed us to work on the publication methods that worked best for subscribers. We haven't had time to update all the history yet, but all suggested plays are listed still.

VALUE SINGLES: Here are our "value" SINGLE selections. Not afraid to take E/W over $8 odds or if there's apparent overlay value.
Townsville R2 #1 Slade Amigos @ $8/$2.50. Form looks kinda average but this is an ordinary race and with only 8 starters thinks it can at least run a place here, esp if it gets to the lead. 0.65 UNIT E/W.
Gosford R4 #6 Diamond Star Halo @ $12/$2.35 (UBET, elsewhere $10). Doing the form last night I thought this was good value at $10 and wanted to wait until the AM. UBET is an outlier here and some other operators have moved it into $7 already. Good E/W chance. 0.50 UNIT E/W.
Townsville R3 #2 Molongue Fire @ $5. Ticks a lot of boxes here and $5 is a great price, IMO. 1 UNIT WIN.
Gosford R7 #1 Tim's Principal @ $1.85 (use bet boost). After its last run, I BB'd it and wrote "will win next start". Not a flash price, but with a Bet Boost you should be able to get close to $2 which I think is fair. 2.5 UNITS WIN.
Townsville R6 #3 Hot Saga @ $18/$4.40. Certainly not the worst here and is a great price. Taken 0.40 UNIT WIN plus 0.8 UNIT PLACE.
Gosford R8 #7 The Brown One @ $20/$7 (NTD). Something about this race that seems a bit awry. In that regard, looking at a specie here at big odds. No third dividend so the place price is quite attractive. 0.25 UNIT E/W.
Pakenham R8 #11 Font Magica @ $8.50/$2.80. Last night I took $8.50 thinking that was good value in a hard race, and there's been a few scratchings and it is still $8.50, so that's even better value. Like the run it could get and Callow is one of my favourite jockeys, always honest. 0.70 UNIT E/W
Pakenham R6 - #2 #3 from 1 5 7 8 for $150 Win / TT Custom Reward Level.
Interesting race with Kothu Rotti coming back to flat after its recent hurdle win. Certainly will be fit.

VALUE SINGLES: Here are our "value" SINGLE selections. Not afraid to take E/W over $8 odds or if there's apparent overlay value. From today, we'll switch to Units as our recommended bets. A unit can be whatever you wish.
Balaklava R1 #1 Habanero @ $8. Looks a value chance here with small field so a win bet of .6 UNIT WIN. (Not E/W as NTD).
Balaklava R2 #5 Chubby Rain @ $26/$2.90. I like these races with very short favs and some under-exposed runners. Worth a little E/W at this price. 0.25 UNIT E/W.
Sale R3 #7 Flash Cash @ $7. Things have changed in this market since yesterday. We took $9.50 about Flash Cash; $9.50 about #6 Yulong Yongxing (now $6.50) and $10 about #11 Sallybrook (now $9). However, I think with the speed on that Flash Cash can come over the top of them, but with three scratchings, some race pressure has been removed. I'd suggest a 1 UNIT WIN on Flash Cash or you can combine all three into a RewardBet. [SportsBet has 2nd/3rd offer here which you could use].
Ipswich R5 #1 Monster Of Energy @ $6. Another selection which has moved since we took it @ $10/$3.10 only an hour ago (that's why the Early Mail package will be advantageous) but I think it's a great chance. Recommend 1 UNIT WIN.
Ipswich R6 #6 The Pinkerton @ $14/$5. Looks great E/W value to me. 0.4 UNIT E/W.
Warwick Farm R4 #1 Kurnel Jaxon @ $7/$2.30. Really like the chances here - looks an E/W special to mine. 1 UNIT E/W.
Ipswich R8 #3 Endless Days @ $9/$2.60. Looks terrific E/W value first-up here, will need some luck in run though. 0.5 UNIT E/W.
Balaklava R6 #7 Letsava Win @ $12/$3. Great value IMO up against the fav here, 0.5 UNIT E/W.
Warwick Farm R6 #1 Misery @ $9/$3. Like Misery here, again value E/W. 0.75 UNIT E/W.
Sale R7 #7 Kaching. No prizes for tipping this - looks a standout and if you can get $2 or higher, it's a great bet. We got $2.05 with a price pump. 2.5 UNITS WIN.
Balaklava R7 #9 Quedoutes @ $26/$5.50. Like this horse at this price, could be a blow-out runner. 0.3 UNIT E/W.
Warwick Farm R7 #5 Bombadier @ $6. Really liked the chances of this horse last night. Looks progressive; good jockey and at $11 looked great value. Unfortunately, the price has moved a bit. 0.75 UNIT WIN.
Sale R8 #13 Dandre @ $9/$2.80. This is from my Blackbook and I backed it as soon as markets opened on Monday. We were on it here last start and thought it was a great chance. Just to show I don't always get a good price, I took $7.50 on Monday and it's now $9 (after some scratchings). 0.75 UNIT E/W.
Balaklava R8 #1 Cool Frenzy @ $8/$2.35. Could be set for a win here, definite E/W chance and in fact we've had 1 UNIT WIN and 2 UNITS PLACE
Ipswich R7 - #2 and #8 from 3 5 12 (for 2nd/3rd only) and 1 6 9 10 13 (for 3rd only) for $135 ($150 after top-up).
These two look the standout runners here - and using the power of RewardBet's staking to extract a bit of value from the exotics as well as most 'retail' punters will probably do a standout fixed in the exotics.

Geelong R1 #1 Arlington Way @ $4.80. Looks very well placed here, and attractive price in this 7 horse field. $125 WIN.
Kembla Grange R4 #5 Babe In Boots @ $7.50/$2.30. This is price is very good value so have gone $75 E/W.
Kembla Grange R5 #1 Expierroment @ $9.50/$3.85. Blinkers on, fitter and a nice price. Note it's a NTD race, but still gone E/W (pays 2nd only). $60 E/W.
Albury R6 #4 My Kind @ $18/$5. Certainly not the worst here and this is a very open race. (Finally) won at this track/distance last start at a similar price with the same jockey. Seen funnier things in racing than a repeat like that. $50 E/W.
Geelong R6 #4 Cath's Village @ $4.60. Weir trained and looked a good chance when running over the form. $125 WIN.
Rockhampton R6 #6 Supreme Jet @ $26/$7. Has good form here, and I like the trainer/owner combo. Worth a $35 E/W ticket at these prices.
Geelong R8 #6 Kartem Around Boy @ $5. Thought this was an excellent chance last night and took $7. It's been the medium of steady support all AM, and the $5 is still good shopping IMO. $100 WIN.
Albury R5 #2 and #5 from 1 4 7 11 in a WIN / Trifecta Custom Reward Level for $175.
Originally I thought #2 was the best chance in this race, but the more I looked at #5 Valac, the more worried I got about it, and even more-so when I moved to R6 and realised Valac had been scratched from that race.
SO what to do? Well that's easy ... just use RewardBet - and it'll handle the price discrepancy between these two runners automatically.

Grafton R2 #6 Dream Wilder @ $14. Small field here and could cause an upset, but only a small $25 WIN bet (NTD Race).
Dubbo R3 #2 Zeta's Rocket @ $2.70 (try a price boost). Doing the form last night this looked a standout and I snapped up $5.50. There's been a couple of scratchings but still value if you can get around 7-4 (ie: $2.80). $200 WIN.
Hamilton R6 #3 Aldo's Gold @ $8/$2.40. Been watching this horse for a while from the smart Paul Preusker stable. And the money is on with heavy support today already although most tipsters have ignored it. Still worth an E/W ticketfor $75 E/W in the eight horse field. Will also take both the Preusker runners (#8 and #3) as standouts with field in an All Trifecta RewardBet for $50.
Hamilton R7 - #1 #3 #7 from 2 4 5 8 in an All Trifecta Custom Level for $100 ($108.04 after top-up).
I've used Edit Prices to change #3 and #7 both to $3.20 chances, rather than where the market has them.

Strathalbyn R5 #9 Cause We Can @ $8/$2.35. Seems largely overlooked by the 'tipsters' but I think it has a great chance. $85 E/W.
Kalgoorlie R4 #12 Vono @ $34/$8. This looks like it has no chance according to the market, but this is a race where there's two standouts on ratings - a race in two as they say - between #4 and #5. But this is Kalgoorlie and sometimes the obvious doesn't happen. For a small outlay of $15 E/W I'll play this poker machine here.
Geelong R5 #5 Along Came Jones @ $21/$4. Maybe out of it's class but then again if can continue improvement then worth an E/W ticket at this price. $25 E/W.
Goulburn R4 #6 Genoveffa @ $11/$3.10. Certainly not the worst here, and this price looks attractive to me. $50 E/W.
Goulburn R5 #8 Royal Roulette @ $26/$6.50. Happy to entertain this one each-way, noticed some interesting aspects using "Mr Pretium's" techniques. $25 E/W.
Gunnedah R7 #2 Loud Enough @ $8/$3. Greg Ryan loves to win a Cup and this horse is ultra consistent and a solid E/W play. $65 E/W.
Gunnedah R8 #3 Epic Dan @ $10/$3.20. Hopefully Ryan is in a good mood after winning the race before as he's on this one too. Good form at this track and at this price I can entertain a $50 E/W bet here.
Strathalbyn R8 #3 Sympatica @ $8/$2.60. Fairly open race here IMO so will go E/W here for $65.
Gunnedah R5. #5 from 2 3 8 10 in a $100 Custom Win / Ex / TT RewardBet.
Cut The Mustard hopefully will do just that here today and a few for the exotics which look to have good chances.

Randwick R8 #1 Widgee Turf @ $11/$3.80. Interesting runner, obv on its way to QLD and Egans only ride today. Maybe they are just giving it a run whilst passing through 'the other way of running' but still has great form and worth an E/W ticket $75 E/W.
Randwick R9 #9 Sparky Lad @ $6.50. Looked an excellent chance when doing the form yesterday and has had a bit of support today as well. $100 WIN.
Sandown R9 #1 Fifty Stars @ $2.50. When reviewing this horse, just wrote "standout". Looks the goods albeit short. $250 WIN.
Doomben R2 - #2 #12 from 1 4 5 10 in a All Trifecta Custom Level. $50 Outlay ($55.41 with top-up on).
Obviously, #2 Dark Dream is an obvious pick and we've covered it off via Bookie Offers for $150 WIN already which have various returns if it runs 2nd/3rd.
I have a high opinion of Omineca and will be doing good things in the future, hopefully.
If the fav fails, there's a few TT combinations here that could deliver a value return.

I'm quietly confident about these two runners here, 13 and 14, and we'll try and pick up some cream with the exotics. (You can take the win portion with a few bonus money-back bookie offers and make it a $30 Ex-TT Custom Level if you wish).
Randwick R3. #4 #6 in a $150 Bronze RewardBet.
Think both these runners have an excellent chance. You can reduce your risk somewhat by using some of the bookie offers on this race as well.

Last night this looked an E/W special to me, I snapped up $7/$2.90 and told one of my 'helpers' who was online at 11pm ... look to cross from the barrier and be too speedy". Alas, the E/W price has gone (one of the advantages of the early-mail service when we put the packages together) .. but still think its a solid WIN bet. $100 WIN.
Casino R6 #2 Powerful Saga $5.50. Looks set for a win IMO here. $150 WIN.
Canberra R7 #5 Fire Stoker @ $5. Looks a good chance here. $65 WIN (We got $8 last night pre scratchings).
Ipswich R7 #1 Shotacross The Bow @ $4. Last night I thought #1 and #5 were the best chances. Five has been scratched today which augurs well for #1 here. $125 WIN.
Canberra R8 #8 Pahruli @ $7.50. Interesting jockey switch here and I like the price. $70 win.
Ipswich R1 - Think the fav is far too short here. So taking the other main chances #2 #3 #4 from 1 in an Ex/TT Custom level for $50.
This is a way to 'lay' a horse using exotics. Effectively we are saying that the fav can't win (or more to the point, is not value at that price). Just a small outlay here.
Ipswich R4 - #1 and #2 from 4 8 10 in a $150 Win / Ex / TT Custom RewardBet.
Both these two rate highly.

Gawler R7 #5 Kazoom @ $10/$3.10. Looks a good winning hope here, esp after scratching of #7 which was my first pick. $125/$50 E/W.
Canterbury R7 #6 Dylan's Dynasty @ $6. Angela Davies runner which has useful form in this trip and received support after 9am which is good enough for me. $100 WIN.
Gold Coast R5 - We are really potting #3 Setoga here. A few eggs in the #5 and #7 basket!
Not sure why #3 is so short? Could be wrong - anyway, we've used Edit Prices to change it's price to $6 and also reduced #5 from $16 to $10. Then (besides the value bets above), we are taking an All Trifecta Custom Level for $75 ($90.90 after top-up) to extract the trifecta if we are right.

Rockhampton R2 #2 King Max @ $6.50. Looks great value here on a track it likes. Go well. $125 WIN.
Rockhampton R4 #1 Our Neddy Boy @ $6.50. Terrific chance, and a good price here IMO. $80 WIN.
Rockhampton R5 #5 Okanagan Miss @ $10 for $60 WIN - PLUS - #6 Boom Boy @ $9 for $65 WIN. The odds on fav is far too short here IMO, but win but not for me at that price. I am also taking a sneaky RB Exacta/TT Custom with 5,6 for 1st and the fav for 2nd for $25.
Rockhampton R7 #1 Cyclone Fugitive @ $3.70. Extremely good record at the track and rates well. Worth a wager here, $100 WIN.
Geelong R6 - #2 is the standout here, we've added in #7 as a danger with 1 and 6 for 2nd, 3rd only in a $100 Ex / Trifecta RewardBet.
This is a fairly 'sharp' exacta/trifecta play - keeping the stake down a bit trying to extract some value.
Geelong R7 - Two part play here.
Perfect Command rates very highly. So taken it for a WIN bet for $100 (@ $4.20).
Additionally, outlaying $100 on a Ex/Trifecta Custom Level with #2 #7 #10 (value) with 8 for 2nd, 3rd and 4, 5 for 3rd ONLY. NB: We have used Edit Prices feature to change #2 to $3 and #7 to $7 which is more in line with our ratings.

Muswellbrook R3 #8 Through The Cracks @ $7.50/$2.62. Interesting runner on debut, from the Angela Davies camp. Been tracking its price to see if there was support and today they appear to have opened up. Gone from 12s last night to $7.50 today (with only a $5 scratching since). Worth an E/W ticket: $25 E/W.
Mildura R6 #4 Aussie Bob @ $4.50. I really liked this last night when it was $6 as an great E/W bet for today, but alas the price has moved considerably this AM. Has a great chance and I'm obviously not the only one that thinks so. $100 WIN.
Muswellbrook R7 #5 Notting Hill @ $1.75 (try a bet boost). This is an absolute standout IMO, and it is short but deserves to be. Its last two runs have been really impressive to watch, great action. Plenty of upside for this horse. $250 WIN.
Mildura R8 #7 Gin Atomic @ $3. Again a standout from the Preusker stable with Holland aboard and there's already very steady market support for it. I took some nibbles at it last night at $4.20 (Bet365 which is useless for me had it at $4.60). $150 WIN.

Grafton R5 #1 Jets Cracker @ $9.50/$3. I think this looks great chance at this price E/W. $50 E/W.
Devonport R5 #5 Khatun $17/$4. Nothing flash in the form guide but some interesting market indicators. Specie: $25 E/W.
Nowra R6 #1 Rather Sweet @ $10/$3.30. Looks an excellent place chance, and could surprise. $45 E/W
Bendigo R7 #11 Sasko $8. Could easily see it winning here, $65 WIN.
Casterton R6 - #1 and #2 in a $125 Bronze RewardBet.
These two rate highly and we hope they run the quinella as well!
Bendigo R8 - This is a very open race - and certainly nothing firm here but I thought this Trifecta could pay dividends with #4 #5 #9 for from 12 13 14 for 2nd/3rd only.
Grafton R7 - #2 #10 #12 for the win from 1 5 13 in a Win / TT Custom Level for $125.
These three rate very highly - and some upside if we get the exotics.

Port Augusta R5 #1 Zarace @ $3.30 - Looks overs in this class, $100 WIN.

I'll probably back #7 and #15 also in the bookie offers today. I may also repeat this Custom Bet with just #9 standout for the Trifecta for $20 or so.
NB: TopBetta has a "bug" where if you submit many bets like in a trifecta it may come back with "timeout" or "HTTP 500" error on RewardBet. Normally this means that your bets may have gone on - just login to TopBetta, navigate to the race in question and it should show all the bets for that race. We have asked them to fix it. Or you can select flexi option as most of these trifectas are around to 50c mark anyway.
If you do three separate RewardBets, each one alternating between #7 #9 and #15 as the standout then that will reduce the number of individual bets sent each time.

So taking a specie Trifecta with #3 #7 #8 #9 #10 #12 #15 for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and putting the FAV 14 into 2nd, 3rd place ONLY for $75.
NB: Note we've taken the flexi option here. The reason being is that otherwise we'd have 294 individual bets which would cost too much (at 50c min per trifecta).

Port Macquarie R2 #2 Outsmartem @ $2.30. To me this looks like a 'certainty' - very surprised if it doesn't start around $1.70 or so (which allows you to do a Betfair Trade, if you wish). Max bet: $250 (I got $2.43 last night).
Geelong R6 #7 Lady Louise @ $10/$3. This looks great value here at $10 if you can get it. (We took $10/$3 last night). $75 E/W.
Port Macquarie R7 #2 Desirable Miss @ $4.60. This is another reason why the 'early mail option (when offered)' could be value to you if it suits. Looking at the form last night, this looked like a race between #1 and #2. #1 was $2.20 and #2 was $8. What would you do? So I took $75 E/W at $8. But now the equation is a little different with the prices closer together. Still think #2 should be similar price to the fav so do with that what you think works for you. Staking isn't an exact science and you have to evaluate the situation at the time, which can constantly change. That's why the picking winners is the easy part, it's the staking which takes a lot of experience and thinking and maths (like RB offers).
Cranbourne R2 #4 Like You Look @ $15. Nothing better than a maiden at Cranbourne on a cold Friday night with five starters and two of them clear favs, attracting all the attention of the liquid-ed up desperates' trying to create a bankroll for Saturday. Could be a knock out? $15 Win. (You could also take it in two RBs with the favs, with the neither of the favs coming 1st 2nd in the same RB).
Penola R5 - #3 #4 #7 - These three all rate up there ... so taking them in an Ex / TT custom level for $100.
Effectively we are 'laying' the #5 and #6 here for the place ... as if either places (or 1 8 9), it knocks us out. It's one of the ways you can 'lay' via RewardBet - see, you don't need to use Betfair!

Kilmore R8 #7 Carrie Ann @ $14/$4.20. Thought this could pull off a surprise at odds. We took $21/$5 E/W last night, another advantage of the early mail option when it is setup. $50 E/W.
Cairns R6 #1 Cruise Power @ $2.90. This looks an absolute standout. The only niggle is the gear changes, and remember $2.90 shots still only have 36% of the market so aren't certainties on price. $250 WIN.
Pakenham R3 #4 Poster Man @ $8.50/$2.60. Looks to be making steady progress and seems value here. $50 E/W.
Kembla Grange R8 - #7 and #8 from 1 2 3 5 11 in a Win / Trifecta Custom Level for $150.
These two look the standouts here, however I've adjusted the prices using our Edit Prices feature to be more in line with where I think they will end-up (or should be). #7 is now $2.80 and #8 is $5. Consequently I've locked in my WIN bet now on #7 and taken a top-fluctuation on #8. May be wrong, but that's what I'm doing.
Cairns R7. Three selections #3 #4 #9 from 2 6 11 in an All Trifecta bet for $100. PLUS $50 E/W on #4 @ $8.50/$3.10.
These three look the best, but I also like the value in #4 so an additional E/W bet there. Hope we can win both!

Warwick Farm R5 #2 Hallelujah Boy @ $3.70. Looks a very strong chance here and the odds are attractive (look for odds-boosts). $125 WIN. Result: 3rd. Looked the winner in straight. Loss: $125.
Sandown R6 #6 That Rings A Bell @ $4.20 $125 WIN AND #8 Costa Bomb @ $10 $50 E/W. The price on That Rings A Bell looks attractive and Costa Bomb is trained by Paul Preusker who we've made some dough from in the last week. Also I'm standing out those two in a $50 RB Trifecta with other runners that take my fancy just prior to the race. Result: Both unplaced, got too far back IMO. Was a blowout race for punters anyway so we were thinking right. Loss: $200.
Warwick Farm R6 #1 Hillary Step @ $16/$4.40. Just a little something here ... may get a better price later and is value IMO. $15 E/W. Result: Upl. Terrific run, looked like it could win at the 100m. Loss: $30.
Sandown R7 #2 Lord Tennyson @ $10/$3.30. Looks terrific E/W value in this race. $50 E/W. Result: Upl. Fair run. Loss: $100.
Murray Bridge R7 #6 Rosso Antico $17/$4.40 (That was with TAB, that just moved it to $14 after my bet!) $15/$4.40 elsewhere. I really like the chances here and looks super value so I've bet-up a bit. You can please yourself with your stake. $75 E/W. Result: Disappointing. Will read SR. Loss: $150.
Sandown R8 #11 Big Bad Baz @ $17/$4.40 $35 E/W AND #13 She's Got Speed @ $13/$3.90 $45 E/W. I think the favourite has a good chance but is too short, providing E/W value for these runners. Result: Both unplaced. Fav won well. Loss: $160.
Sunshine Coast R8 #4 $6/$2.25 - Don't think you can go too far wrong E/W here ... not bad value and it looks like #4 and #10 are the two most likely, so prefer the value here. $75 E/W. Result: Well the #10 got out to a good price and won! Frustrating. We were unplaced but I would have changed the bet to #4 and #10 for the WIN via RB if I'd known. Loss: $150.
Murray Bridge R8 #4 Two Odd Socks @ $6/$2. This is a tough race to finish the 'day' (except for Ascot, then Scottsville!) .. so taking the value here E/W $50. Result: Fair run, but Upl. Loss: $100.
Bonus tips summary: After a very good run lately, it was one of 'those days' ... it happens. Big blowout but the RB Selections below made up for it. Loss: $1065. My staking is probably more aggressive on these and it can hurt when you don't hit the winners.
Daily Summary. There was a lot of value in the bonus tips today but sometimes, at the prices that we target, it can be diamonds or dust.
However, our RewardBet selections did very well - with the RB Advantage shining. The power of having two approaches: one being selective single value bets and the other being, generally, multiple selections through RewardBet.

Warwick Farm R3 - #2 #9 from 3 6 7 8 for Custom QQ / TT Reward Level for $125.
I think this race is more open than it appears - so seeking some exotic value here. #2 and #9 both look good value and could show up.
I'll probably have small $25 E/W bets on them for interest as well. Up to you what you do there.
Result: 3-6-1. Loss: $125.49.
NB: As Almighty Crown drifted in the market it started to represent good value to me. So I took it and the favourite with our main two runners in an additional RB. This made up for the loss on the original bet and the E/W bets. If you have the chance, it pays to monitor things to take advantage of changing situations. Notice using RB's staking we picked up $186 MORE than if you'd done a standard flexi box as every other operator offers.
These late calls which can be very profitable will be an additional option to our membership service. Not everyone is around to take advantage of it, so only some subscribers will want to use it.
Murray Bridge R4 - #10 from 1 2 3 4 5 for a Win / Trifecta Custom Level for $200.
Life's Reward is a clear standout on ratings here.
Result: 10-4-1. Hit the Winner and Trifecta here. We went Top-Fluc on the winner, which was a bad call as it only paid $2.05 where we could have got much more when posted.

Gone $25 E/W on each. Result: 2nd and 3rd to the odds-on favourite so a great result. Outlay: $100. Return: $155. Profit: $55 (55%)
We already had #4 and #11 E/W, so why not save in case the short price favourite won? Result: $606.79 profit.
Lesson: The favourite looked strong pre-race. A simple RewardBet that took a few seconds delivered an additional $606 profit!
Tamworth R3 #1Collaborate @ $3.30. I spent a lot of time on this horse, looks like they are planning on "better things" and it looks set for a kill here. I got $3.70 last night, Max Bet: $250. Result: Disappointing, after being solidly supported, it looked good in run but didn't finish off. Have to read steward's report. Loss: $250.
Tamworth R4 - A picture tells a thousand words - or a thousand swear words. That margin cost me $975 extra profit! (But still won $150 or 100%).
Tamworth R4 #1 Congelator @ $7.50/$2.50. This looked terrific when I did the form last night and I snapped up $14/$4 for $75 each-way. So some of the value has gone of course. Result: Look at picture! Backed into $5 so everyone had a good overlay. Outlay: $150. Return: $300. Profit: $150 (100%)
This is an appropriate time to mention that we will be putting out some 'foundation offers' around these selections very soon, including the ability to get the early-info. So I placed that Bet at 11pm last night. If you were in on the early-mail, you would have got a notification that I did that and if this horse wins, that would mean an additional $825 profit. Mackay R8 #5 Barachiel @ $5.50. Another push for the early mail service. Took this last night (there have been no scratchings) for $7.50. This looks a great E/W shot to finish the day. $75 E/W.

Can't ever think of a horse drifting from $3.50 and winning so well in NSW racing. We locked in $3.50 last night for the win, would you believe, but added $50 TT+ win bet when it drifted for some consolation. Super win, ran over the top of them as we suggested. That drift was alarming and concerning pre-race though!

Townsville R2 #1 Executed @ $4. It has a perfect record at this track and rates highly. $100 Win.
Pakenham R2 #2 Roadrager @ $16/$4.40. Despite what I wrote about Pakenham and also because of that, I really like this selection at odds. This is a crap race, potentially on a dismal night with three debutants (who are likely to be more spooked than ever!). At least Roadrager has some form and experience and is coming back here. Live chance IMO. $50 E/W.
WA Racing is where I have a lot of success. However, I can't place my bets there until the last minute as some of the market analysis I've taught myself is critical at most WA venues (there's a reason why). This is a nice return last night that I made using RewardBet.
Some very sweet dividends there. Pity the trifecta wasn't placed with NSW! I also hit the first four - will have to add that to RewardBet soon!

Mornington R7 - Two selections #2 #10 from 1 3 7 9 12 for $150 Win / Trifecta Custom Level.
Note: We are a little wary of #9 Pirellina, so we are going to put a $35 WIN saver on that separately.
Result: 12-5-1. When the trifecta pays $6,000-$8,000 you know it was a blow-out result.
#2 was heavily backed into $1.75 (it was $2.40 when we posted it) and #10 into $6 (it was $11 when we posted it). So big overlays, which are important, even if we didn't get the result we wanted.

Murwillumbah R4 #6 Hidden Light @ $11/$3.40 ($75 E/W). I think this is terrific value and from the inside barrier should hunt up into a good position. Well overs for mine. Result: Unplaced, although it was well backed into SP $5.50! Did what we predicted from the barrier but couldn't place. Happy with the double overlay we achieved. Loss: $150.
Wangaratta R8 #5 Shropshire Lass @ $9/$3. This looks very good value here. ($50 x $100). Result: Unplaced after having a great run. It was backed into $4.80 so another double overlay for us. Unfortunately it couldn't get a place but you won't go broke getting overlays like that!
Bonus outlays: $330. Return $339. Profit: $9. Dropped a bit on those other two tips, but double-overlays are always good.
Daily Summary. A day of some highs and "oh man, that was close!". The highlight was the $20 winner from our bonus tips, and the two double overlays on the other two tips.
We were close to the mark as usual, sometimes you just need that extra luck to land the result.

This is an open race IMO, so looking for some value here.
Result: 6-4-5. So close! Liberty Island hit the lead but #6 fought back. We had great value through the exotics here as #3 was heavily backed into $2 but ran closer to last.

Very close to a great winning start. Liberty Island headed.
Gunnedah R3 - #1 is the standout here. We are trying to pick up the Trifecta as well. $200 in a Win / TT Custom level.

I think $3.90 is a great price about Blue Valour. Think it will firm.
Result: 1-9-5. Perfect result for us, with Blue Valour leading most of the way - it started at $3.40 so we also got a good price overlay. Pick up the trifecta as well for some cream.

Daily Summary. Not much went right today, but we still handled it well. With Sunday racing, you have the advantage of better information but sometimes, the options regards jockeys and racetracks, can compromise results. Although we basically broke even, once again our losses are generally small whilst our good days are excellent - that's what you aim for.
Race strike rate 3/7. How we did? Outlay: $1110.46. Return: $1143.22. Profit: $32.76 (3%). Some better 'shopping' for prices would have provided an extra $250 in profit.
Sapphire Coast R1 - One selection #6 for WIN from 1 2 4 7 10 in QQ / TT Custom Level.
We like Ticked Off here at the $4.60. We are betting it for $50 WIN plus $75 in the QQ/TT level as insurance in case it comes second.
Result: 8-2-6. Ticked Off was backed into $3.60, which made a great overlay. It almost won, almost came second also. Close, but no cigar.

Werribee R2 - #2 for the WIN from 3 4 5 6 for exotics in a $75 QQ / Trifecta Custom Level.
I think Solar Coaster is good value here. We got $6 with TopBetta's Price Bump for $50 for the win. The QQ/TT Custom level is a saver of sorts for $75 in case it comes 2nd.
Result: 6-4-2. Solar Coaster ran a terrific race, we got a big overlay and it just didn't quite get there in the end. We had the trifecta, but not the order we needed.
Outlay: $150.47. Return: NIL. Loss: $150.47.
Port Augusta R3 - Two Selections, #1 and #7 from 6 and 11 in a Custom Win / Ex / TT Level for $125.
Mantilla looks good value here at $6.50.
Result: 1-10-6. Finally some luck, with one of our runners winning well. Mantilla drifted from $6 to $21 and, of course, ran 10th! The luxury you have of betting closer to the race! Unfortunately we locked in $3.50 about the winner that started at $5.50 and was higher on Betfair. :-(
Outlay: $125.01. Return: $227.50 (Win: 65 x $3.50). We cost ourselves at least $130 extra profit by being on the wrong end of the drift. Profit: $102.50 (82%)

The top two here look likely and are very good value IMO.

I think these are the three here, but I don't think the market prices are right. So I've used Edit Prices feature to adjust the prices, this will result in potentially higher returns if we are right.
Result: 4-7-2. Our Summer Skye, was the best supported but we got nutted by both outsiders! Hello, WA Racing!

Street Life looks a strong prospect. Being Northam, you may want to watch the betting close to the race. Party Spin is a potential knock-out so we've included it too.
Result: 4-7-2. We hit the jackpot here and couldn't have got it better. In fact, as Street Life drifted from $2 to $2.90, we increased our stake. Party Spin looked the winner for much of the race, we had this well and truly covered. [Remember we record what we did, you have the information, we try and educate you on the options, but it is your call at the end-of-the-day].

I think these two are the main chances here. I'm a little worried about #4 but am taking that risk.

Lesson: Any runner at greater than $8, is probably better taken as a Best Tote type option. It cost us $120 in extra profit by betting it at $8.

Saturday 5th May

Morphettville R2 #4 Velox @ $13. Result: UPL @ $18. Loss: $13.
Daily Summary. The toughest day we've had and most punters would say the same. As one commentator said: "Day looked easy on paper, but was nothing like it". We only hit 2/10 returns but still didn't bleed too much.
I think we did well to come out of it where we did. Personally, (and you won't like this), I had a very successful day with a few outsiders getting up away from these selections. When I saw the pattern of the day, I started playing away from the market across many races (besides these ones that I had already backed from here) using RewardBet and had a pretty fine day.
As I was writing this write-up, I noticed that W.Pike was failing on short priced horses in WA. Confidence is important - his would be low and other jockeys' higher, feeling he's vulnerable. It's not hard to quickly take advantage of these situations using RewardBet.
Today was our biggest day ever. We spent about 8 hours on these selections. Doesn't always work out but you have to take the opportunity with what looked like good races all day.
Lessons: Pay attention to the market once again. Those that did could have saved a major disaster at Grafton R3. Also Rockhampton was "off" and those more astute may have noticed that and avoided those races. We picked up $150 in bonus bets with these selection which all adds to the kitty.
I think we did well to only lose 47% today considering our race strike rate was 20% and is usually close to 50%.

Result: 8-9-10. Disappointing overall especially as one of our chances lost the jockey within 200m of the start! May have been a different outcome otherwise.

I think Almighty Crown is excellent value at the $7 mark. There's some bookie specials here so it's not much risk either.
Result: 10-3-4. Thought Almighty Crown race a good race for 3rd. Would have been better to come 2nd and pick up QQ though.

It's worth reading articles about runs-of-outs ... even 50% market gauges (coin toss) can be extremely long. Unfortunately we missed the exotics, so the return was a little skinnier.

This is slightly unusual play for us. Whilst #7 As It Lies is clearly on top with ratings, this is a carnival meeting where strange plans can come about.
We've included #8 Inch Perfect which is very consistent and we backed separately - it should have won for us last week so can't leave it out. #2 and #12 are potential value as well.
We've thrown all selections into an Ex / TT Custom Level, but play it how you feel comfortable!

However, we are taking a highly speculative (but considered) QQ / TT Custom Level across 2 6 8 12 13 for $100.
It may fail dismally, but all the selections are value, just need things to fall into place.
Result: 12-5-13. We hit 1st and 3rd, but needed 1st and 2nd!

Albany R5 - One selection #4 from 3 6 7 9 in a Win / Ex / TT Custom Level for $150.
War Ksar rates very highly here. However it IS Albany and I usually prefer to refer to the market before betting there. You have that luxury, but I'll be sticking with this one here.
Result: 4-7-3. We hit the WINNER and Trifecta. Worked out well.

BONUS: Here are our bonus "value" selections which we noticed whilst doing the form. We've backed them each for small amounts (to profit $150) or sometimes for more when stated.
Warrnambool R6 #5 Trenchant @ $8.50 ($67 WIN). Taking on the fav at $1.60 with Brad onboard! Result: 3rd at $16, ran a good race at those odds, and I would have switched to E/W if that was the price in the AM.
Daily Summary. Not a bad day, we started very well. Unfortunately the two other races, our runners drifted badly and ran accordingly.
Lessons: Pay attention to the market if possible before a race - it does allow you to fine-tune your bets as we keep seeing. We dropped $187 potential further profit by being on the wrong side of the price at Gatton. It's a tough gig to get that right all the time, that's why products like GOAT SP are invariably so good.
Race strike rate 2/4. How we did? Outlay: $451.66. Return: $837.67. Profit: $386.01 (85%)
Warrnambool R3 - Two selections #3 and #4 (with edit prices to $4 each) from 2 5 6 (6 is edit prices to $3) in a Win / Ex / TT Custom Level for $100.
I think Summer Glen at odds-on is way too short in this race. It's a small field, it's a competitive carnival, it's overcast, it's day three and the track could be playing up. I'm happy to risk it.
The two I've taken to win are #3 and #4 - I've edited the prices to provide more leverage than the current market through the exotics if we are right about Summer Glen. Small outlay risk for a potential great return.
Result: 3-6-5. This turned out exactly how we predicted. Summer Glen drifted from $1.95 to $2.70, mimicking our analysis! La Fleurette did the job for us Winning (TF $6.50) and we picked up some overlays with our exotics as well due to using the Edit Prices feature.
Outlay: $101.28. Return: $349.11 (Win: $260 - 40 x $6.50 TF. Exa: $50.87 - 2.78 x $18.30. Tri: $38.24 - 0.56 x $58.29). Profit: $247.83 (245%)
Gatton R3 - Two part play. One selection #2 from 2 4 6 for 2nd/3rd in a $75 QQ/Trifecta custom level plus $75 WIN on #2.
I think #4 is far too short here and Poetic Dragon looks a good chance at $4.40. I expected $3.80. We got $5 with TopBettas Price Bump. We are using the QQ/TT play as insurance in case it comes 2nd with the others nutting it out.
Result: 2-6-5. Well, what a fabulous start to the day (after a disappointing yesterday). We were again spot on with our analysis, Poetic Dragon led all the way at the juicy odds of $7.50 SP ($8 TF)! We also picked up the Quinella (but missed the trifecta). The fav, #4 was 4th.
Outlay: $150.01. Return: $488.56 (Win: $375 - 75 x $5 (not a good price in hindsight, cost us $187 extra profit!). Quinella: $113.56 - 10.92 x $10.40). Profit: $338.55 (226%)

Warrnambool R5 - #3 for the Win and also in a QQ / TT Custom Level from 7 8 9 11 13 14.
Sovereign Duke won this race last year and looks overs to mine. I also like those patterns at big carnivals as there's a lot of ego at stake here.
We've backed it at $8 for $63 WIN and well as the QQ / TT RB to provide some insurance if it comes second.
Result: 9-6-1. Well, our selection drifted from $8.50 to $15! That's the advantage you all have over me, as I commit to these when I post them. It was an open result with the two favs unplaced so we were on the right thinking, just the wrong horse!
Outlay: $100.17. Return: NIL. Loss: $100.17
Wagga R5 - #3 Fun Tickets for the Win from 2 8 9 12 for 2nd/3rd only in a Win / Ex / TT Custom Level.
Fun Tickets looks value here - has the claim, suitable distance and looking for more luck. We got $6 with TopBettas Price Bump which is attractive.
Result: 2-12-8-9. We had the first four but unfortunately we needed Fun Tickets to come 1st! It didn't and drifted badly from $4.40 to $11 and ran accordingly so once again you had the opportunity to adjust your betting close to the race if you wished. With the other selections running the first-four, we were close with no return.

Canterbury R6 #2 Zafina @ $7. Result: 3rd @ SP $6. Loss: $25.

Daily Summary. One of those days. The result when we were nosed out in Toowoomba R7 after getting a 50% win overlay and looming up to win kinda summarises the day. They happen.
Lessons: You don't win every day, of course! Even the bonuses had an off day.

Canterbury R3 - Single Selection #1 from 2 5 7 8 in a $100 Bronze RewardBet.
I think Langoustine presents value here at the current $7.50 with top jockey onboard and consistent form.
Result: Langoustine was upl at $9.50, and was quite strong most of the run and did look a chance for a while.

Strathalbyn R6: #2 and #3 from 1 7 8 9 11 12 13 for 2/3rd in Win / TT Custom for $100.
Two and Three look well placed and a fair price in this grade.
Result: 1st, 2nd and 4th but not the order we wanted. Vintage Grove (4th) looked to have its tongue out the whole straight which could have affected its performance. Chosen Angel drifted alarmingly and ran accordingly :-)

Toowoomba R7 - Two selections #1 #2 for Win with 4 6 10 for 2nd/3rd only using Custom Win / Ex / TT level.
The fav drops dramatically in class and has a great draw. All Pluck isn't out of it, so we're keeping safe there.
Result. Well, we lost by a nose! We would have picked up Win, Exacta and Trifecta. Not much can make a great difference sometimes! The good news is that we got a great price - Basara was backed from $2.20 to $1.60 - so we got a 50% overlay!
Outlay: $202.78. Return: NIL. Loss: $200.
Lost by a nose! Closest of 2nds ... that cost us well over $300 return!
Warrnambool R10 - Three Selections #7 #8 #13 for the win from 1 6 9 14 for 2nd/3rd only in a Win / TT Custom Level.
Note that some judicious shopping should see you get better win prices early.
Hope we have this race covered, with the Weir runner and Weather Channel having good form. Throwing in #13 at little cost just in case as it's value.
Result: 6-2-7. Third wasn't good enough. One of those days.

Warrnambool R10 # 12 Accreditation @ $19/$4.40 (25 E/W) - Looks interesting says 'Mr Pretium'. Result: 4th @ $26 (fair run at price).
Warrnambool R10 # 17 Favonski @ $17/$4 ($25 E/W) - Also looks E/W value to us. Result: Upl after looking a hope into straight @ $16.
Daily Summary. You don't win everyday, and we were thereabouts and I'm happy with the decisions overall. Again, when we do lose, it seems to be a much lower quantum than when we win, and we hit some good overlays today which is a big positive.
Lessons: Happy with the way it played.
Race strike rate 1/3. How we did? Outlay: $450.84. Return: $287.09. Loss: $163.75. Nothing from the bonus tips today either.
Warrnambool R7 - #9 Looks good value here at $4.80.
We have taken $75 WIN at $5.50 using TopBetta Bump. We are also taking this $75 QQ / TT Custom Level which provides some insurance if #9 runs second.
Result: 10-9-11. Second, well supported into $3.80, we got a very good overlay which is most important. The QQ saver paid off with a return minimising our losses. Big Hammer (winner) sprinted quickly and we chased hard but ran out of time.
Outlay: $150. Return: $100.67 (QQ: 15.73 x $6.40). Loss: $49.33
Warrnambool R8 - #2, #3 for WIN from 5 6 8 (2nd/3rd) and 1 4 7 9 10 (3rd only) in a Win / Trifecta Custom Level for $135 ($150.87 with top-up applied).
Even though this looks like a 2-horse race according to the market, they often don't run like that and typically provide bad value . So we've taken #3 as well for the win with the Weir favourite.
If we hit the winner, we have a good chance at the trifecta as well.
Result: 2-7-3. Good win by Tradesman (we got $2.10 which was a big percentage overlay of 29% to the SP of $1.85. Remember pros aim for 10% POT, and by good shopping we achieved 29%).
We were right about Mongolian Wolf, and the second fav didn't fire, having a poor run. Very unlucky not to pick up the Trifecta as well, but in the end it only cost us around $65 additional return.
Outlay: $150.87. Return: $186.42. (Win: 88.77 x $2.10). Profit: $35.55 (24%). It may seem like a skinny profit, but as a percentage it's on the mark and we had the close call of almost hitting the trifecta, which would have changed the POT to about 64%.
Townsville R7 - #5 looks a good chance here around $4.

Result: October Tutu was backed into $2.60 with one of the stronger bookies but drifted at the race-start. Although it was a competitive run, we didn't get the result we wanted.
We got $4.50 about it, which again is a massive overlay. They don't all win but you won't lose getting overlays like that on runners in the long run.
Outlay: $149.97. Return: NIL. Loss: $149.97.
